poster
Poster proposal for Hello Culture campaign in Slovenia.
The poster “Thank You for the Flowers” highlights the dual relationship to culture. On one hand, it expresses gratitude and respect; on the other, it warns of the risk that we too often forget culture or fail to give it enough attention.
The symmetrical design allows for the poster to be turned around, symbolizing the individual’s choice, and it can be read with either an optimistic or cautionary tone. In the first arrangement, the bouquet is oriented correctly, emphasizing the flowers as a symbol of thanks given at the end of a cultural event.
In the second arrangement, the bouquet is inverted, underscoring the phrase “Thank you for the flowers” which in Slovene can act as a bitter commentary on a particular situation. With this duality, the poster encourages reflection: do we recognize culture as a valuable gift that enriches our community, or do we take it for granted? The text and visual elements highlight this contrast and underscore the importance of culture as a foundation of our identity and social cohesion.
